2018 - 2019 Season

The Peace of Patriotism

Sunday, November 11, 2018, 3:00 p.m.
O'Brien Theatre, Roane State Community College

We honor our Armed Forces while marking the anniversaries of the end of WWI and the withdrawal of the US from Viet Nam with music from those eras. In collaboration with Roane County's Babahatchie Band, we emphasize peace during a time when violence often predominates the news. We feature a pre-concert lecture by RSCC Professor Casey Cobb, highlighting the interaction of music and history.

Jazz Fest

Saturday, March 2, 2019, 7:00 p.m.
Princess Theatre, Harriman, TN

Join us as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Jazz Fest in New Orleans and explore the uniquely American style of jazz including Bob Chilcott's "A Little Jazz Mass" and other favorites. Guest performers include our own Children's Choir, Music in Education Grant winners, and select members of UT's jazz faculty.

Gloria, Gloria!

Sunday, April 28, 2019, 3:00 p.m.
South Harriman Baptist Church, Harriman, TN

This concert features both the classic Vivaldi's "Gloria" and a modern setting by Mark Hayes. We will be accompanied by members of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra while highlighting the stylistic differences of composers from different cultures and eras using the same revered text.
